He is also the owner of a 10.1 carat ruby bought for $8.4 Million and renamed ‘Zoe Red’ after his daughter Zoe.
He has a collection of over 10,000 bottles of Red wine and loves collecting art.
Joseph Lau has bought a number of expensive diamonds. The first one was a 7.03 carat blue diamond for his daughter Josephine for around $9.5 Million. In 2014, he bought a 9.75 carat blue diamond for daughter Zoe. His latest purchase was a 16.08 carat ink diamond for $28.5 Million and a 12.03 carat blue diamond for $48.4 Million.
Joseph Lau was one of the first seven purchasers of Boeing 787 Dream liner and has been using it for private travelling.
He has a total of six children with his three partners. His youngest children being his daughter Josephine and a son.
In March 2014, he had to step down from his position as Chairman of Chinese Estates after being convicted in Macau for bribery as well as money laundering.
