Hilary Lorraine Devey was born in Lancashire, and when she was seven-year-old, she witnessed the bankruptcy of her father because of which the family faced extreme poverty.
Her father brought up his children by working in pubs and hotels.
She left her schooling at the age of sixteen and then began her career while working with Women’s Royal Air Force in air traffic control and accounts department.
After several short working stints, she started her business establishment, known as Pall-ex freight distributing company.
She launched this freight work in the year 1996, with an annual turnover of 100 Million. Pall-ex handled around 8,000 palletised consignments.
In January 2011, Hilary Lorraine Devey made a huge decision joined the panel of the BBC two program dragons’ den that proved very successful.
